Okay, so, last week at the store the hubs picked up some Taco Bell brand hard shells, which I was at first opposed to. I mean, I'd grown up on cheap, flavorless, off-brand shells that were just...blahhh. But OMG, these taco shells. They are incredible. Like a giant warm envelope of a slightly thicker tortilla shell. OMG. They are awesome! So, I made my awesome chili recipe again (you can find the delicious chili recipe here). Just look at that above awesomeness. So thick, heart, and delicious. OMG. And, while pondering what to serve with it (rice? ritz bacon-flavored crackers? chips?) I happened to spy the taco shells. Experimental, maybe, but SOLD. So I just tossed the shells in the oven, right on the rack, at 350-degrees for like 5 minutes, and in the meantime prepared the never-fail chili cheese dog for the hubs. Skillet grilled hot dog, steamed bun, covered, and done. If that seems too easy, imagine how easy it was to fill the taco shell. It was seriously as easy as filling the shell with some hot, delicious chili, then carefully applying some shredded cheddar cheese on top. DONE. And SOOOOOO good. You may ask, "Well, really, how good could it?" And in that case, I may answer, "Well, I've been told that it's as good as tacos and possibly better, and that it's definitely better than Fritos and Fritos Pie, but you decide." Just...please try this. Please. Chili Cheese tacos are SOOO incredibly good, and also, if you're like me, you can skip the extra fat and calories that come with a hot dog and bun, and instead enjoy this awesomeness in taco form!

AuthorFood is my absolute passion. The highlight of my day is when I get to cook, and especially eat. I'm super simple. I don't have crazy fancy ingredients. I just try to cook delicious, healthy (most of the time) meals for my mister and I. Archives
